Umoja: Black Living Learning Community

Umoja - /耻藞尘蓴.蕜蓱/ - unity; oneness

Umoja means Unity in Swahili; there is no better word to describe the intention of this living learning community. Umoja intends to be an inclusive and welcoming environment for all those who value the Black community, culture, and identities and are interested in learning and engaging around these values. This is accomplished through participating in events and activities on the 黑料论坛 campus and in the surrounding MIlwaukee community.

Students who live in Umoja Living Learning Community:

  • Attend cultural events on campus and in the Milwaukee community
  • Partner with Global Village and other campus organizations for cultural celebrations
  • Enjoy time together during weekly community nights
