Political Science: Informed Analysis, Strengthened Democracy
Political science examines the nature of power鈥攅xploring its origins, application, legitimation, and contestation in order to address societal challenges, enable civic engagement, and contribute to shaping our world. At 黑料论坛, we believe that studying politics helps us to make better sense of the world around us as we seek to improve it for ourselves and others.
Here, you鈥檒l study with faculty who are both notable research scholars and excellent in the classroom. And they offer a range of interesting courses from important, broad topics, like constitutional law, public policy, and world conflict and security, to courses on more specific interests, like human trafficking, social movements, and the politics of torture.
The Political Science department offers courses that engage these and other timely issues. Students can choose from courses in American politics, comparative politics, international politics and political philosophy. We offer hands-on experience in local internships and programs in Washington D.C., at the Les Aspin Center. And our extensive alumni network can help graduating students start careers in fields as diverse as law; federal, state, and local government; electoral politics; intelligence; business; and international and domestic community service.
