Master's in Public Service
The Master of Arts in Public Service is an interdisciplinary program for people with a passion for service and an ambition to be a leader in the social and education sectors. The program has a generalist, interdisciplinary focus, in which students learn to lead organizations serving the public and educational sectors, analyze policy and data, and understand key components including financial management, board memberships, personnel oversight, program development, sociological and historical context, and research and evaluation. Students may also pursue a Specialization in Educational Foundations and Leadership, in which they will apply leadership, research, and management principles specifically to educational settings.
Both the generalist and Educational Foundations and Leadership specializations focus on the study of topics crucial to urban and international nonprofits and schools, including inequality and inequity, education, race, ethnicity, language, justice, social movements, and political participation. An accelerated degree program is also offered, allowing ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳ students to earn a bachelor's degree with a minor in urban affairs and a master's degree in public service in five years.
