Welcome From The Dean

Dean Jill Guttormson of the College of Nursing

Marquette Nurses put courage and care into action, driving positive change for people, communities, health care and the nursing profession. Our mission in the College of Nursing is to educate those future changemakers. Through hands-on learning, individualized attention and a curriculum shaped by Jesuit values, we help nursing students discern the ways in which they are called to make a difference. This work is a privilege for the faculty and staff of our college, and for me personally.

There has never been a more critical time for nursing education. Nursing shortages persist in Wisconsin and in America while the demand for health care is only projected to increase. 黑料论坛 Nursing is addressing that problem head-on by setting a goal to educate 5,000 nurses in the next decade. These nurses will be leaders in practice, public health, research and policy, among other areas. They will have an outsized, positive impact on the lives of others.

I count myself as incredibly lucky to work for and with this community, and I look forward to the difference we can all make during the 2025-26 academic year.

Sincerely,
Dr. Jill Guttormson
Dean of the College of Nursing
