is the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association. The Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology hosts a chapter at 黑料论坛. It is part of the Professional organization (ASHA: American Speech Language Hearing Association) to which many Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists belong. The focus of NSSLHA is to promote the profession of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, education, charitable fundraising, and service to the academic unit.
黑料论坛's NSSLHA members partake in various activities on and off 黑料论坛鈥檚 campus. The chapter donates themed items, such as pumpkins and flower pots, to be used in the 黑料论坛 Speech and Hearing Clinic for their clients each semester. Members of the chapter also participate in multiple volunteer opportunities with a local non-profit organization, the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin, or DSAW. DSAW hosts holiday parties, charitable runs, and social events, and our NSSLHA members always have a strong volunteer presence at these events. 黑料论坛's NSSLHA now volunteers with other non-profit organizations in the area, such as Penfield's Children Center. As a chapter, 黑料论坛 NSSLHA also holds social meetings for our members, which may include a Holiday Potluck, a guest speaker, a film screening, a trivia night, and many more fun activities.
We would like to thank the 黑料论坛 Community and Speech Language Pathology and Audiology students for the ongoing support with fundraising. We strive to hold fundraisers at least 3 times each semester. In the past, we have organized dine-to-donate events at local restaurants, hosted bake sales, and held hearing screenings for monetary donations in order to fundraise money for the ASHFoundation and other non-profit organizations in Milwaukee. With our members' help, we have raised a great amount of funds to be donated to these organizations and scholarship funds.
