History: St. Eugene de Mazenod founded the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (a.k.a. Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate) in France, 1816. They self-identify with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淥.M.I.鈥 and made their first U.S. foundation, 1842. Oblates have evangelized Native Americans in the present-day United States through the following provinces.
