Professor Sauer received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, his Ph.D. from the University of South Florida and was a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the Oho State University. He spent 23 years at Abbott Labs/AbbVie where he worked in oncology research and formed the High-Throughput Organic Synthesis group which was responsible for the development of novel technologies for various areas of pharmaceutical discovery. He is considered a pioneer in the fields of Microwave Assisted Organic Synthesis (MAOS) and the use of polymer-supported reagents, catalysts and scavengers (PS-RCS). He then joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside where his research focused on 1) investigating 鈥済reen鈥 electrochemical synthetic methods, and 2) creating novel ketone bodies to promote physical and cognitive enhancement for space travel and extraterrestrial colonization. Prior to joining 黑料论坛, he served as a Senior Research Medicinal Chemist for the Exploration Medical Capabilities Element at NASA where he worked on medical treatments for long term space travel.
Professor Sauer is a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Ketone Catalyst Innovations (KCI) which develops novel therapeutics targeting the biological foundations of aging and metabolic health. KCI鈥檚 therapeutics address sarcopenia, mitochondrial dysfunction, and inflammatory disorders while delivering powerful neuroprotective benefits, anti-aging effects, and weight management solutions.
Professor Sauer is named inventor/co-inventor on 30 issued United States Patents and author/co-author of 40 peer-reviewed publications which have been cited over 2200 times.
