We are a service-based unit that is organized to be both proactive and responsive in meeting the needs of the campus community. We take pride in our understanding of the institution, informed by our position as a campus-wide office. We contribute to the excellence of ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳ by using our knowledge and experience to be open communicators and solution-driven in the service we provide to the campus and our community.
We partner with our colleagues around campus in a shared faith that our students have the ability to succeed. Jesuit values drive us to be open-minded and empathetic whenever our services are needed or we could otherwise lend our support and expertise. We believe in the integrity of the ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳ degree as a symbol of achievement and therefore strive to be ethical, equitable, and transparent in our policies, procedures, and actions.
Just as it is for our students, we acknowledge that wellness is critical to our success as a department and as individuals. We achieve wellness through maintaining a balance and respect for our lives outside of the office, supporting as much as possible opportunities for disengagement from work to gain both inner strength and perspective. We also strive to create and engage in opportunities, big and small, to build comradery across our department and with colleagues throughout the institution. We find humor to be critical in those endeavors.
Every action we take is designed, either directly or indirectly, to drive and support the success of our students. We define student success broadly to include both standard metrics of success, such as retention and graduation, as well as actions that are designed to uphold the standards of academic excellence that are inherent in the achievement of a degree from ºÚÁÏÂÛ̳.
We recognize our responsibilities necessitate, and our efforts are improved through, thoughtful collaboration both internally and with partners across the institution. Operating in a complex environment, our actions are interrelated with the actions of others. We are committed to leadership through our holistic understanding of academic records, systems, and procedures to improve decision-making and processes throughout the campus community.
