Dr. Wagner is passionate about empowering students and believes economics provides a valuable framework for students to develop and achieve their future life goals. In her classes, Dr. Wagner strives to blend economic theory with practical applications to prepare students for navigating challenging, real-world economic and policy situations.
Intermediate Microeconomic Analysis
Dr. Wagner specializes in healthcare economics and public policy analysis. Her research portfolio includes published work on the impact of paid leave policies after family health shocks, Medicaid expansions for individuals with disabilities, and the influence of social determinants of health on hospital readmissions. Additionally, she has explored the effects of work disabilities on income volatility and the impact of the Great Recession on public education. Her contributions to the field are recognized, with some of her work being cited by the Economic Report of the President.
