Dr Adams is an award-winning teacher who has taught a variety of courses in the areas of organizational behavior and human resources management as well as research methods, multivariate statistics, people analytics and occupational stress. His teaching is complemented by an active research and consulting portfolio.
Dr. Adams鈥 research broadly centers on occupational well-being and career success, with a particular emphasis on historically underrepresented groups. He has presented his work at national conferences hosted by the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Academy of Management. He has published two books and numerous book chapters, and his research has also appeared in leading journals such as American Psychologist, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Personnel Psychology.
In addition to his academic work, Dr. Adams has consulted for organizations including Eaton Corporation, Affinity Health Systems, Mitsubishi, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and Manpower. He has also collaborated on sponsored research with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) and the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Adams is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and a member of the Association for Psychological Science and the Academy of Management.
